Last Sunday night was the ever explosive, always interesting event that is The Grammy’s.
I love the music and the performances but my favourite part has always been the Red Carpet. I love the glitz and the glamour. I love the fashion fails and the golden gown moments, and this year was no exception. And as always the world’s fashion and media elite were quick to voice their thoughts.
Make Up Director for Fashfest Diana Cheetham focused on the ‘winning’ Beauty Looks of the biggest stars:

LADY GAGA
“How inspirational to see a little creativity on the face but still keeping it in the beauty realm! The colour palette is so harmonizing to the hair, skin and eyes.
It is a real representation of organised chaos that works so well for her. She looks beautifully fierce! #thatcontour”

JENNIFER LOPEZ
“LOVE….The natural glow is so perfect for J-Lo. The dewy finish of the foundation and that subtle smokiness gives her an effortless fresh and youthful look. The peach tones are a real trend this year and you can see them used well in this makeup application.”

KATY PERRY
“This is my favourite look this year! I love the contrast of the hair to the brows and how chic it is. The flawless skin, detailed brows and long whispy lashes just make this a stand out. The lip is bold yet not over powering and the colour choice is perfect adding warmth to the skin.
This is a great look for anyone wanting to have that night time glamour.”

SOLANGE KNOWLES
“I’m not loving this look holistically but there are parts that work.
If your going for a naturally bare look then the focus should be on the flawless skin, but all I can see is her dark circles and blemishes on the forehead. So a cleaner canvas is needed to pull this look off. I also personally feel that the brows are slightly too full and become a focal point for the wrong reasons.”

BEYONCE KNOWLES
“As a makeup artist I look straight to the shine on the eyelids and wonder: How long is this look going to last? This wet finish technique looks great in a magazine but in real life it can be all just a bit shiny and oily looking.
I also feel that she is extremely one toned. Adding a little pink or mauve to her cheeks and the lips could be just the ticket to uplift this makeup so she doesn’t just fade into the clothes she is wearing.”
Diana has a loyal following of clients all across Australia and her skills are highly sought after. She is currently working with Prime 7 Canberra helping to launch their ‘new look’ broadcast.
