Swapping Moisturisers For Oils: Juicy Bod Product Review

It was drilled in to me from a young age that in order to keep your skin soft and supple you had to moisturise. Since my teenage years I’ve always moisturised after I shower, usually with a thick Sorbolene like cream that I could buy in bulk at Woolies, or stole from my mum Carole. It did make my skin feel better and was handy for keeping those trouble spots like my elbows, knees and ankles feeling less dry. However, with these super thick creams I often felt that my skin was always craving more. They would absorb very quickly…

Gowns Galore with Canberra Couture

My work wife Renee and I were lucky enough to borrow a dress from local rental boutique Canberra Couture for the Lifeline ACT Gala Ball. I have rented dresses before, but never had the ability to go to a boutique and try the dresses on. Daniella, the owner of Canberra Couture made us feel so welcome and knew more about the type of dress that would suit my body than I would. She listened to our likes, our dislikes and possible ideas that we had. Renee and I both have very different body types, so naturally we would feel comfortable…

The Summer Linen Edit

I love summer, but the heatwaves can get pretty unbearable at times. I love Summer fashions…big flowing maxi dresses…skirts…shorts and the occasional singlet top. However, I still like to keep my clothes at a certain length, so it can be hard to find clothes that aren’t too flimsy, and still wearable in the crazy Summer heat. This is where Linen comes in. Linen is great in Summer because… The fabric allows a lot of airflow, which helps to cool us down. Linen clothes are durable and will last forever, because they’re made from natural fibres. Linen will never go out…

Suiting Up

It’s no secret I lurve me a good lady suit. A blazer and a pair of pants does wonders for my figure and always makes me feel powerful. See what I did there…Powerful…like Power Suit. I swear in another life I would’ve been Hilary Clinton’s stylist. I feel my best when I’m wearing a pink powersuit that nips in at the waist and skirts over my chunky thighs. These days it’s easy for us ladies to buy a suit online that will flatter our figure, you’ve just got to know where to look. That’s where I come in. I’ve been…

Fathers Day Man Tea @ QT Canberra

I had the pleasure of taking my Dad to QT Hotel Canberra for their Father’s Day Man Tea. This was no typical high tea. Think less cucumber sandwiches and Earl Grey Tea…and more Wagyu Beef, Mini Burgers and Beer. Dad had never been to QT before, so it was a real treat to spoil him and make him feel extra special. On arrival we made our way to the QT Lounge on the 15th floor. The views from every angle of the room are spectacular. Dad went straight into boy mode and asked if he could please be let loose…

A Sneak Peak: The Rose Room by Emily Egan

In Canberra we are lucky enough to have an array of strong, powerful and driven women who are always kicking goals. One of these awesome ladies is Emily Egan. I first met Emily through a mutual friend. At first I found her quite intimidating…that smile..the legs…and the drop dead gorgeous hair. Then I got to know her, and she is one of the most down to earth human beings on the planet. Never mind the beauty pageants she’s won or the gorgeous gowns she’s paraded in, this beauty queen is a strong believer in the beauty of every woman. Emily’s…

Dress Rentals: My Experiences So Far…

I get a number of messages now and again from a few friends and followers about my recommendations for renting a dress. I’ve rented a number of dresses a number of times, and think it’s a great way to save money on a dress, as well as space in your wardrobe. So many times in the past I’ve bought a beautiful dress, worn it once, and then popped it in the back of my wardrobe to gather dust. I’ve also found that with social media there’s a lot more pressure to wear something different to every occasion and follow that…
