What I Wore: Lusso VIP Opening

Last week I had the pleasure of meeting up with my fellow bloggers for a sneak peak of the Lusso Luxury Boutique in Manuka,Canberra.

Leather, Fur, Handbags and Boots all straight from the runways of Milan were on display as we nibbled on canapés and sipped on Moet (I don’t actually drink, but sometimes I like to pretend to #pretendadult). The Brumbies made a guest appearance, and proceeded to tell us which items of clothing they would like to see on a woman.

As you can imagine, it was rather entertaining.

I organised my outfit for the event the week before, parading in front of my Mum, Dad and sister Mikaela while they ate at the dinner table.

Is this scenario sounding slightly familiar?

After half an hour of prancing around and impromptu changing, the brains trust decided on a burgundy midi dress paired with black strappy heels and a longline fur vest.

That Thursday night I got ready early and walked out the door ready to catch up with all my favourite socialites. However, after sitting in the car for a few minutes and making my way down our property’s driveway, I noticed that my dress tended to ride up my legs a little past appropriate height.

My brain started to tick. What if I was sitting down at the event? What if people were sitting opposite me? Like I wasn’t nervous enough already, now I would have to clench my legs all evening to keep my legs together while struggling to remember if I had nice undies on.

So I drove back up the drive way.

And changed into a Little Black Dress. Every girl’s best friend.

It was comfortable and event appropriate.

I’ve had a few msg’s on social media since that night asking me about my outfit. The clothes were bought over a year ago, but I’ve put together a few links of similar pieces to create a similar look.

You can never go wrong with head to toe black.
